Congratulations! Edgewood has been awarded the Florida Power-Library School designation for the third time! The Florida Power-Library Schools program recognizes outstanding library programs that are fully integrated into the school's curriculum.

Congratulations to the Top 5 Homerooms for 2025! 1st – Franco 2nd – Reijm 3rd – Mehok + Schneider 4th – Kropp These homerooms earned the most points this year by participating in in homeroom challenges, spirit days, and team building activities. They will be rewarded with a pizza party during Power Hour on Mar 19! From Thursday through Saturday, the Brevard County Allstar team competed at Academic Team states. For the first time in the history of our county, 4 of the 6 members of that all-star team came from the same school, and that school was Edgewood. Joshua Kirkpatrick, Ishaan Sen, Omkar Subramaniam, and Paul Wubbena joined forces with Viera’s top player and West Shore’s top player. After 3 days of intense play, they ended up as 1 of 6 teams who qualified for the finals of the division 1 state championship. When all was said and done, they walked away as silver medalists in the 4th most populous state in America. The other teams in the final leaned heavily on the backs of 1 or 2 players to ensure their success, while Brevard County played incredibly well as a team, and all 4 of the members that Edgewood sent carried much more than their weight when it came to achieving this victory. The were so well balanced that coach Fertig and I are unable to name an MVP. Chamber Orchestra participated in the State Music Performance Assessment (MPA) on Wednesday, 4/16 and came home with an overall Superior rating for their performance! This is the first time in Edgewood's history that an orchestra has earned this rating at the state level.

Every year, the district hosts a juried art exhibit for all the schools in the county. This district-wide K-12 exhibition/competition is the highlight event of our district’s visual arts programs. Students enter 2D, 3D, and digital artwork, and we are pleased to share that four of Edgewood’s students have won awards this year. Ms. Flint’s student Kirra Karpowich won first place in high school 2D, and Josslyn Allen won a merit award in 3D. Ms. Ingleton’s student Arya Dave won first place in middle school 2D, and Ellie Johnson won a merit award. Ms. Flint and Ms. Ingleton are proud of these students and would like to share their artwork. Last week, our junior and senior homerooms competed in the all-day Edgewood Challenge event. Congratulations to the first-ever BACK-TO-BACK champions: Jenkins' Jailbreak! 2nd place went to Noah’s Rawling Stones and 3rd place to Reijm’s Racks!

Edgewood Junior Classical League is collecting gently used formal wear and accessories for Project Prom until 2/23/2025.

Come celebrate Edgewood Literacy Week in the Media Center next week from Jan 27-31. Come in before school or during lunch to check out that day's activity. There will be prize giveaways for participants!
